Timber Development

Natasha graduated from the CNC NRFT program in 2021, she received both the CIF Gold Medal award and the Schlich Memorial Award. Starting with Silvicon in 2016, Natasha works primarily with K'Alii Aks Timber Corporation on Nisga'a lands. She manages block layout and assists the General Manager with all phases of forestry, such as timber development, silviculture, harvesting supervision, and planning.

She has field experience in many locations in the northwest doing cultural heritage resource surveys, riparian management, road design, timber cruising, salvage, and multiphase layout. Natasha spent the summer of 2021 with the College of New Caledonia Research Forest where she collected data for permanent sample plots and CNC research projects such as road rehab, western toad migration, moose winter range assessments, commercial thinning, assisted migration trials, and fish inventory. Natasha hopes to continually gain exposure to partial retention strategies and wildlife value assessments for better management practices.
